On October 8, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning hosted a regular press conference. During the session, it was introduced that China has achieved full visa exemption with 24 countries, implemented visa-free entry policies for 20 countries, and offers 72-hour or 144-hour transit visa exemptions to citizens of 54 countries. The process for foreign tourists to visit China has been increasingly simplified, and their experience in China has been continuously enhanced.
It was further explained that the growing popularity of “China Tour” reflects the country’s appeal and open stance. Currently, Beijing has launched the “City Service Guide for First-Time Foreign Visitors to Beijing,” which systematically provides various types of life service information. Shanghai has equipped its taxis and metro stations with devices for accepting foreign card payments, and cities like Chengdu, Xi’an, and six others are piloting new payment initiatives to make it easier for foreign visitors in China.
“We welcome more foreign friends to travel to China, to appreciate the beautiful landscapes and experience the charm of the country,” Mao Ning said. She emphasized that China’s doors will continue to open wider, and the level of facilitation for entry and exit will keep improving.
